Obituary for William "Butch" Barron

William “Butch” Barron, age 67, of Columbus, Ohio died Friday, December 19, 2014. He was born January 30, 1947 in Montgomery, WV and was the son of the late Manuel and Pettress Barron.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he earned several medals including the Purple Heart. After returning home from the war he worked as a coal miner.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 34 years Cynthia and sister Robin Barron Littlejohn.

Leaving to cherish his memories four loving children: Carlos (Tara) of Huntington, Marcus of Montgomery, Patrick (Rochell) of Birmingham, Pettress of Columbus; seven grandchildren: Lamonte, Isaac, Carter, Maddox, Carli, Patrick Jr., and Kylie.

He also leaves a brothers Raymond Barron and Clinton Lindsey both of Montgomery; and sisters Geraldine Barron of Chicago, Maxine Ross of Glen Jean, Eleanor Bowman of Chicago, Karen Barron, Chicago, Linda Barron of Chicago, Cynthia Terry of Temple Hills, MD, Sheila Crider of Montgomery, Lisa Porter of Charlotte and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and other loving relatives and friends.

Service will be Saturday at 1:00 at St. John's Baptist Church in Montgomery with Pastor Alfonso Douglas Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday.
