Obituary for Artie "Boo Boo" White

Artie "Boo Boo" White
Artie “Boo Boo” White Jr. age 64 of Montgomery passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019 after a sudden illness at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston. He was preceded in death by his wife Carmen White, mother Dorothy L. Smith, stepfather Henry “Sonny” Smith, grandparents James and Mattie Evans; sisters Drema Evans and Mary Jane Smith; aunt Alice and Henry English, Nellie Mae and uncle Charles Evans.
After graduation from Montgomery High School, he went to Bluefield State College to play football for a short time. He was a true fan of the Washington Redskins and no matter win or lose he stuck with them.
Artie was a dedicated hard-working man. He served at the Town Center Mall as one of their maintenance technicians for 34 years. He knew everyone and everyone knew him. Small but definitely mighty. He never left a job unfinished or spoke an unkind word. His smile and laugh will be missed by many.
He is survived by his sisters Lisa Cox and Laurie Johnson of Michigan; brothers Larry “Poochie” Evans of CA., Gary and Carol Evans of Charleston and Granville “Put” Smith of Montgomery; aunt Beverly Evans of Charleston; uncles James “June” Evans of Fayetteville, NC., Vernon White of Middletown, OH and Donald White of Kimberly and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank to doctors and nursing staff at CAMC Memorial open-heart recovery unit for doing all they did to save Artie. And a special thank you to his co-workers, bosses and friends at the town center mall for doing all they did and being with the family through this time of loss.
Service will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday August 10, 2019 at Eagle Central Baptist Church with Rev. William Kinney officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London and friends may call one hour prior to service at the church. O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery is in charge of arrangements where expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
