Obituary for Betty Joyce Kessler
Betty Joyce Kessler 89 of Okeechobee FL formerly of Falls View WV was reunited with her husband of 58 years George on Wednesday August 19, 2020 after a long battle with lung cancer while surrounded by her family.
Betty was born February 16, 1931 in Mahan WV to John Carl Bowyer & Edith Lena Bragg, she was the last of the 12 children.
Along with her husband, parents, brothers & sisters she was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Sadler & granddaughter Krista Flannery.
She retired as a Sergeant of the Montgomery Police Dept in 1988 after 20 years of service.
She is survived by her son Stephen (Cheresa) Kessler of Okeechobee FL, daughter Denise (Gary) Ross of Elkview WV, son-in-law Charles Don Sadler of Arnold MD, grandchildren Charles Don (Carrie) Sadler Jr of Arnold MD, Christa (Jay) Hawley of Winfield WV, Celena (David) Tooley of Kenna WV, Daniel Fragale of Winfield WV, Shane (Kristen) Rastle of Jackson OH, Dana Ingram of Okeechobee FL, Seth (Megen) Ross, Emily Ross, Luke (Trish) Ross, Kaity (Jordan) Edens 23 great grandchildren & 10 great great grandchildren.
Service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with the Rev. Lee Swor officiating. Entombment will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Please be fully aware and abide with the State of West Virginia and CDC recommendations for social distancing during the COVID-19 Pandemic should you wish to attend the service. Everyone is encouraged to wear a mask.
