Obituary for Claude DeVon Miller, Jr.

Claude DeVon Miller, Jr. was born in Charleston, West Virginia on September 14, 1986 to Claude D. Miller, Sr. and Sharon V. Butler-Miller. Claude left West Virginia at age 5. He attended Patuxent Elementary School and he continued his education at Laurel Junior High and Duval High School located in Maryland. He graduated from Continental Academy, Florida.
Claude was known as “Crowfish”, was a video game fanatic. He had great sportsmanship when it came to boxing, karate, hunting, football, and fishing. He was one of the best cooks. The entrepreneur calling should have been culinary arts. He was always laughing. He was always telling a story about his humorous life events. Claude was good with raising kids, they loved his jokes and his nickname for them. Claude and his brother were bonded, they always looked out for one another. His dad could always count on his help when needed.
Claude’s career started as a vendor during his middle school years. He assisted with his grandparent’s family business. He was the state of the art when it came to operating vending machines and utilizing his strength to get the job done. He then continued his career with District of Columbia Government. During heavy snowstorms he would contract himself, and snow blow the snow. The last of his adulthood he enjoyed vacationing with his family. Claude loved West Virginia, it was no better place than to be with his friends and family.
On November 14, 2019 he was called home peacefully at Montgomery General Hospital, Montgomery, West Virginia. He leaves to cherish his memory, devoted wife; Joelle (Dominique) Douglas-Miller, Claudia (daughter), Avery (son), Kevin (brother) and Marcella (sister-in-law), Zoey (niece), Demitra (sister) and nephews; Trey Lucas, Domia Miller, Charles Booker, Jr., Cecil Booker, and a host of cousins and friends.
Service will be at noon on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church, Morris Drive, Montgomery, WVa. with Rev. Douglas Mullins officiating.
