Obituary for Emma Ruth Atha

Emma Ruth  Atha
Emma Ruth Atha 90, of Montgomery, went home to be with the Lord on December 21st while sleeping peacefully.

She was born in Nuttallburg, WV, on June 6th of 1932. She was proceeded in death by her husband Lonzo Atha (Luther). She was the daughter of William C. and Ola Mae Wood.

She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She loved the Lord and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. She was a former Murphy Girl at GC Murphy’s Department Store as well as working in the bookstore at WV Tech.

She is survived by her son, David Atha (Denise) of Bentree and her daughter Beth Rule (Chris) of Culloden. Grandchildren include Jared (Jackie) and Jordan (Justa) Atha and Zack (Summer) Cummings. She had five great grandchildren: Noah, Caleb, Cain, Marissa and Conner. Her sisters, Shelby Capps of Glasgow and Betty Stone of Robson.

The viewing will be held at noon on Tuesday, December 27th at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery, followed immediately by the ceremony at 1 p.m. with Rev. Roger Comer officiating.
