Obituary for Joan Ann King

Joan Ann King, 91, of Boomer died February 16, 2022. She was born in Jodie on December 25, 1930, to the late Samuel Hatfield and Eva Meadows Simms. Along with her parents she also predeceased by her husband Mural King and son David King.

She was retired from the Fayette County Schools and was a member of Campbell Memorial Baptist Church in Smithers for over 60 years.

She is survived by her son Glen King (Rose) of Powellton, grandson Nathaniel King of Powellton, step-grandson John Wilson of Charleston, step-great grandchildren Faith and Bubby Wilson of Charleston, sisters, Betty Skaggs, Carrie Lewis (Danny), brothers, Lowell Simms, Howard Simms (Pat) and Jimmy Meadows (Gloria).

Service will be held at noon on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. Chester Bird officiating. Burial will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow. Friends may visit from 10AM until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be sent to the family at www.odellfuneralhome.com
