Obituary for Lawrence Leo Hern Sr.
Lawrence Leo Hern, Sr., also known as “Larry or Dink” 76, of Glenville, WV., died December 24, 2022. He was born in Charleston, WV., on December 9, 1946, to the late Lawrence and Louise Workman Hern. He was also preceded in death by his brother David Lee Hern.
He was retired from the Kanawha County School Board, as well as the Pratt Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his children Sherry Davis (Gary) of Cross Lanes, Marcy Hern of Cross Lanes, Larry Hern (Shari) of Wendell, NC., grandchildren Johnathan Davis (Amber) of Surveyor, WV., Aaron Davis (Destini) of Marmet, WV., Brandon and Noah Davis of Cross Lanes, Hannah, Kyler, Bailey, and Jackson Hern of Wendell, NC., sister-in-law Won Yi Hern of Wilmington, NC., niece Tammy Caplan (Andy) of Charlotte, NC., great-nephew Gentry Caplan of Charlotte, NC; great-grandchildren Conner, Paisley, Abel, and Olivia (Due in March).
Service will be Friday, December 30, 2022, at 1 p.m. at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
