Lonnie Glenville Rucker age 80 of Coal City formerly of Powellton died February 19, 2015. He was born November 17, 1934 at Hugheston and he was the son of the late James and Betty Rucker. He was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children Shirley Rucker, two grandchildren and five siblings.

Lonnie was retired from the US Army Airbourn with 22 years of service. He was a former mechanic for Brown Chevrolet in Montgomery and he was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Beckley.

Surviving: wife Gloria Faye Rucker; children Tammy Nordeen and her husband Ed of East Bridgewater, Mass., Terry Garretson and her husband Jerry of Mt. Carbon, Mary Warden and her husband Tim of Lewisburg, James Rucker of Columbia, John Rucker and his wife Tammy of Charlton Heights, Rita Rucker Coffee of East Bridgewater, Mass. and Ben Rucker and his wife Cheryl of Powellton; step-children Dayton Mark Bowe and his wife Pam, Shelia Faye Tetoff and her husband Michael, John Paul Bowe and Rachel Leeann Croft and her husband Nelson; 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brothers Delbert, Ralph, Omar and Bill Rucker; sisters Louise Wiseman, Glada Calander and Nancy Barnett.

Service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. Gary Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London with military honors. Friends may call on Monday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
