Obituary for Ray Neil Hinzman

Ray Neil Hinzman age 72 of Powellton went to be with the Lord on November 10, 2014. Ray was a fair, honest, hardworking and fun-spirted man making all that knew him respect, admire and love him. Ray started life from very humble beginnings in Elkins, WV. He quit school in the eight grade in order to help support his family. Ray eventually moved to Wheeling, WV where he met his wife of 50 years Veronia. He worked in the coal industry for almost 30 years and was a member of the UMWA. After leaving the mines Ray bought and operated 2 cab stands, named Ray's City Cab Inc. Ray enjoyed spending time four wheeling, with his family and friends, with his dog and singing in the church choir. He was a Golden Eagle in the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1040 in Montgomery.

He was preceded in death by his wife Veronia Hinzman and his son Charles Hinzman.

Ray leaves behind 4 loving children: Brenda Esmer, Sharon Duncan, Veronia Strickland and Ray Neal Hinzman; 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one brother, George Hinzman.

Visitation will be Thursday 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery.
