Obituary for Rev. Ervin R. Woodrum

Rev. Ervin R. Woodrum 86 of Holly Grove went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2014. He was born June 29, 1928 at Orgas and he was the son of the late Rev. Oscar and Thelma Massie Woodrum.

Ervin followed in his fathers footsteps and pastored The Evening Light Christian Church in Holly Grove for many years. He was a proud coal miner for 30 years and he was a member of the UMWA. He worked at several mines before retiring from US Steel and then worked for the Kanawha County School as a custodian at the Chelyan Elementary school where he really enjoyed with the Chelyan gang.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Wanda, son, Russell and his wife, daughter Yvonne Bosley and her husband and Tammy Hackworth and her husband all of West Virginia; he also leaves six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Service will be 1:00 PM Monday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. Louis Maggard officiating. Burial will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
