Obituary for Robert Douglas "Hump" Harper

Robert D. “Hump” Harper was born in Charleston, WV on January 4, 1966. He resided in Huntington, WV. After a long battle with kidney cancer, God called him home on September 12, 2014.
Hump graduated from East Bank High School in 1984. He worked in the capacity of manager at several retail stores. He was a member of Hansford Missionary Baptist Church, but attended Christ Temple Church in Huntington, WV.
Hump was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Lawrence and Corine Harper, who he lovingly referred to as Mom and Dad.
He leaves to cherish his memory his Mother, Doris Buggs; Sisters, Lisa (Wayne) Bynum, Virginia (Robert) Thomas, Jacqueline (Roland) Shorter Uncles-Roy (Margo) Harper, Calvin Harper, Lawrence (Earsie) Harper Aunts-Carolyn Harper, Lavinia (Dana) Roberts.
A homegoing service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014, at the First Baptist Church of Charleston, located at 432 Shrewsbury Street. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Meadow Haven Memorial Park, Ingram Branch.

O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery is in charge of arrangements.
