Obituary for Sarah Frances Hammar
Sarah Frances Hammar, 71, of Pratt died March 17, 2022. She was born in Charleston on October 25, 1950.
She was a retired schoolteacher from East Bank Middle School, and a graduate of West Virginia University with a master’s degree in English. Sarah was a member of St. Anthony’s Shrine Catholic Church in Boomer. She was a former member of the Odd Fellows and the Rebeckah Lodges.
She is survived by her son; Kenneth McBrayer of Charleston, and sister-in-law, Lyda Slack (Rex) of Midlothian, VA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at St. Anthony’s Shrine Catholic Church in Boomer with Fr. Dominik Baok as celebrant. Burial will follow at Koontz Cemetery in Clendenin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery is in charge of arrangements.
