Billy Gene Toney age 77 of Gallagher died November 18, 2010 at home surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. He was born August 2, 1933 at Collinsdale, WV and was the son of the late Okey and Esther Kelly Toney.
He was a member of the UMWA and retired from Central Appalachian Coal Company and he was a veteran of the US Navy.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Joann; daughters Susan Toney of East Bank, Peggy Toney of Dawes, Donna Combs and her husband Dave of Mossy; son John Toney of Gallagher; step-son David Hudnall of Holly Grove; two grandsons, two step-granddaughters and two great-grandchildren; sisters Emma Lou Strickland of Lawton, Oak. Nancy Campbell and her husband Mim of Gallagher; brother Lanny Toney and his wife Debbie of Gallagher and his beloved dog and buddy Chico.
There will be a private family service on Sunday at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. David Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial at Glasgow.
