Bobby Lee "BB"  Bess
Bobby Lee Bess (BB), age 70, went to be with the lord on March 28, 2024, peacefully, while surrounded by loved ones. Bobby was born May 28, 1953. He grew up in Smithers, WV. He worked for a time as a foreman in the mines, but eventually went on to become a successful business owner. He was the owner and operator of BB’s “The Place to Be” in Smithers and later “Benny’s Bar & Grill” in Montgomery.

Bobby was the embodiment of passion, determination, and adventure. As a local business owner, he poured his heart and soul into building a successful enterprise that touched the lives of many. He had many friends and people he loved and who loved him. He loved to travel and spend time with friends and family. Sports held a special place in Bobby's life, and he could often be found cheering passionately for his favorite teams or hitting the golf course with friends.

Bobby will be fondly remembered for his generosity and zest for life. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Bobby is proceeded in death by his parents Carl “Sonny” and Virginia Bess; his daughter Carla Bess; and his wife Evelyn Bess.

Bobby is survived by his daughters Crista Bess and spouse Ron Cravens; and Bobbie Bess and spouse Philip Evans; grandson Jaden Bess (who was like a son to him) and his partner Brook Jett; his sister and brother-in-law Tom and Linda Lilly; as well as grandchildren Ivy, Alyssa, Alexis, Madison and Oaklynn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will all cherish his memory and carry on his spirit of adventure and resilience.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 6 upstairs at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Montgomery from 6-10pm. . Condolences may be sent to the family at www.odellfuneralhome.com
