Obituary for Brenda Kay Butcher (Huckoby)
Brenda Kay Butcher, age 77 of Powellton, WV passed away peacefully on September 8, 2023, in Hospice Care at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was born at McDunn on March 29, 1946, to the late Joseph and Gladys Huckoby. She was also preceded in death by her
husband of 50 years, Tommie Butcher Sr.
Brenda was a retired cashier after many years of service at Go Mart in Montgomery. “B.Kay” was a friend to everyone she met and considered her coworkers to be her family. Brenda loved gardening,
sewing, antiques, and her little dogs and constant companions Prissy
and Roo.
Brenda is survived by her children; Tabatha Auxier (Grady) of Mt. Olive, and Tommie Lee Butcher II of Charleston, grandchildren Taylor Auxier (Christian Bird) and Christian Auxier, and great-granddaughter Willow Grace Bird. She is also survived by her sister and best friend,
Bea Ann Bragg of Massillon, Ohio as well as many other friends and family.
Honoring her wishes Brenda will be cremated and laid to rest with her husband, Tom. She also wished for no services and hoped to be remembered with fondness in your heart and memories of the
wonderful days of times past.
