Obituary for Brenda Kay Wright (Sloan)
Brenda Kay Sloan Wright age 69 of Pratt, WV went home to be with the Lord on the morning of March 10, 2016. Brenda was a devoted Christian and a member of the Old Kanawha Baptist Church since 1977.
She was retired from Kanawha County Schools at Pratt Elementary.
She was preceded in death by her parents Oliver and Ethel (Ferrell) Sloan, sisters; Marie Tanner, Irene Belcher, Juanita Howell, Virginia (Jen) Hager, and Mary Booth. Brothers William (Jack) Sloan, Thomas Sloan, and Leonard (Lovey) Sloan. And many other family and friends, including her dog Hershel Lee.
Brenda was a devoted wife for 47 years to William (Bill) E. Wright Sr. of Pratt. She is also survived by her daughter Angela Cooper (Darin) of Pratt, and son William (Eddie) E. Wright Jr. (Samantha) of Frankford, WV. She has enjoyed her life surrounded by her 6 grandchildren, Kasey, Lexi, and David "Bubba" Cooper, children of Angela and Darin Cooper. Also Preston, Waylon, and Keira Wright, children of Eddie and Samantha Wright.
Brenda was loved by too many others to list. We would like to thank the family and friends who have been there throughout our journey. Special thanks to sister-in-law Brenda (Szerokmon) Wright, Donald Lanham and his family, Paula Sparkman and her family, and Dennis and Carrie Cooper for all of your love and support. Thanks to Roanoke Va. Memorial Hospital and Hubbard Hospice of Charleston for taking such good care of her.
Services will be at 4PM Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Old Kanawha Baptist Church, Pratt with Pastor David Baughan officiating. Friends may call from 2PM to 4PM prior to the service at the church. A burial will follow at a later date at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.
