Carol June McDonald age 73 of Deep Water entered into Heaven on August 21, 2012. She was born June 12, 1939 in Deep Water and she was the daughter of the late Arnett and Altha Stump Atha. She was also preceded in death by her son Johnny McDonald Jr. and her five brothers.
She was a member of the Deep Water Baptist Church. She was a retired cook from the Fayette County School Board having retired at Gauley Bridge Elementary School. Carol was a loving wife and wonderful mother.
Surviving: husband Johnny Samuel McDonald; daughters Bonnie Smallman and Donna Johnson both of Deep Water; son Brian McDonald of Deep Water; sisters Margaret Pack and Juanita Mundy both of Vandalia, OH and Glenna Nichols of Oak Hill; brother George Atha of Deep Water; 5 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and 17 step great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. Steve Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow. Friends may call from 6 until 9 on Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
