Charles Walter Dix, 78, of Palm Bay, Florida, died April 4, 2013, at Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.

He was a coal miner who resided most of his life in the in the Mt. Nebo - Summersville area. He and his wife relocated to Palm Bay, Florida in 1998.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, sister, Mildred Groves, and brother, Norman Dix. He is survived by his brothers, Frank Dix of Summersville and James Dix of Rupert, step-children, Scott Bowles, Kevin Bowles and Eric Parsons of WV, Paul Parsons of MN and Tracy Vazquez of FL, 18 grandchildren and 4 great grand children.

Service will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Restlawn Memory Gardens Chapel at Victor. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial will follow in the Memory garden. O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery is in charge of arrangements.
