Obituary for Courtney Gail Cordle

Courtney “Gail” Cordle age 75 of Smithers died February 28, 2010 in University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was born November 25, 1934 in Long Branch, WV and was the daughter of the late Seibert and Clemma Ayres Warren. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Seibert Warren Jr. and Richard “Dick” Warren.
She was retired from the State of West Virginia and had been a former employee of G. C. Murphy’s in Montgomery. She was an active member of Campbell Memorial Baptist Church in Smithers where she was a member of the Grace Hatch Circle and assistant church treasure. She also was a volunteer at Montgomery Elderly Care Center. Gail was a resident of the Montgomery and Smithers area for more than 55 years.
Surviving: daughters Patricia Gail Murphy and her husband Joe of Greenup, Kentucky and Brenda Darlene Burney and her husband Tommy of Clarksville, Tenn.; sisters Celia Williams of Fayetteville, Marilyn Patton of Hilliard, OH and Joyce Spade of Mt. Hope; grandchildren Patti Jo Loree and her husband Craig, Brian Murphy, Aaron Murphy and Courtney Burney; great-grandchildren Alex, Frankie, Jake and Josh. Gail was a caring and loving friend to many.
Service will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Campbell Memorial Baptist Church in Smithers with Rev. Chester Bird officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity.
