Cris was a wonderful soul who was loved by many. He always had a smile on his face was always so happy. He loved music, comic books, video games, movies, family, friends, his wife Beth and most importantly God. He spent most of his summers growing up, both attending and counseling, at Camp Cowen, Cowen, WV. He graduated from Valley High School (Smithers, WV) in 1999 where he participated in many activities but none he loved more loved than marching band. His love of music carried over to college where he was a proud member of the WV Tech (Montgomery, WV) marching band. While he participated in many college activities he was especially proud to be a brother of Gamma Xi chapter of Sigma Pi Fraternity International. He loved his brothers dearly. He was an employee of Suddenlink (Shrewsbury, WV) and loved his job and co-workers dearly. Cris made an impact of everyone he met along the years and he will be truly missed by all.

Cris’s celebration of life will begin on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm for visitation with light refreshments being served. Then we will continue on Saturday, September 24, 2016 beginning at 2:00pm for services with visitation starting at 1:00pm. We will be having dinner after the service on Saturday and welcome everyone to stay and enjoy one another in Cris’s honor and so that we may rejoice together for Cris’s heavenly homecoming.

All services will be held at Brookside Ministries, 18419 Deepwater Mountain Road, Mount Carbon, WV 25139 with the Pastor Thomas Skaggs officiating. O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery is in charge of arrangements.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for all of the love, support and prayers given to them along this journey. They will not be forgotten and each of you will always hold a special place in our hearts.
We also hope that those of you that were following along in our travels across the country understand that God such an important part of all of this. Cris hoped to plant mustard seeds among everyone and we believe that was done. We hope that you were as blessed as we were to be a part of this beautiful mess. God bless each and every one of you.

Beth wants to especially thank a few people without whom this last month would not have been possible; Connie, Cher and Jeff; Bob and Preston (Oregon); Andrea and Allen. Each of you contributed in your own special way and went above and beyond in everything you’ve done and are continuing to do and she will forever be grateful.

To my love,

You have been the beat of my heart since we met and fell madly in love twelve years ago. I’ve been so blessed and proud to be your wife for ten on those. Not only were you my husband but you were my best friend. What we’ve shared together, you only see in movies or read about in novels. It truly has been a love story that will never have an end.

I prayed to find someone like you every day of my life and then there you were. We have been inseparable until now and although you are no longer with me, I am comforted to know that you are now my angel and you will remain with me until we meet again in Heaven. Make sure you have my beach chair sitting next to yours when I get there. Until that day comes, I know you are probably up there playing drums with Joey singing and playing his guitar while your dad is probably showing you both a thing or two on the piano.

I will keep your memory alive and tell your story every chance I get. You have been such an inspiration to me and I hope to make you proud. I love you so much honey and I will wait patiently until we can be together again. This is not goodbye; this is until then.

Love your wife forever, Beth Ann
