Obituary for David Ray Bostic

David Ray Bostic
David Ray Bostic, 65, of Chelyan passed away on March 25, 2016 after an extended illness.
David is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, who had actually loved him since she was 13, Barbara Hudson Bostic and his children, Anthony (Tony) Lee Bostic (Kathy) of Chelyan, Jason David Bostic (Michelle) of Pratt and Chad Albert Bostic (Amanda) of Hansford and his grandchildren, Ethan Chad, Kinsley Rae, three step grandchildren Catherine, Ashley and Mark Oxley. Brother Jack Bostic, sisters Cindy Arbo, Ramona Fletcher and first cousin Bill Bostic who was more like a brother.
David was preceded in death by his mother Violet Lee Bostic and Father Albert Bowling Bostic.
A native of Cabin Creek, WV, David was born on July 15, 1950, and worked 35 years as an underground and surface coal miner for Union Carbide, Carbon Fuel, U.S. Steel, Elk Run Coal Company and Black Castle Mining Company.
David had a lifelong passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and owned 2 for many years. He liked to deer hunt and spend time with his boys and grandchildren and he also loved mining coal and could talk for hours about just that. He will be sadly missed and loved for many years. Our lives were surely blessed and better for having shared our love and lives with him. We are thankful for everyday that we shared with David and surely our lives will never be the same again without him.
Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, March 28, 2016 at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery. Friends may visit with the family from 4:30 PM until time of service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
