Deloris Ann Proffitt, 58, of Middle Patch, Gallagher, WV went home to meet the Lord on August 10, 2009.
She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are husband Roy James Proffitt, Sr.; sons Roy James Proffitt Jr. of Livingston, WV and Terry Michael Proffitt of Middle Patch Gallagher, WV; daughter Tamara Lynn Proffitt of Middle Patch Gallagher, WV; sisters Mamie McMichen of Middle Patch Gallagher, WV, Patty Hartwell of Madison, WV and Sherry Lovejoy of Elkridge, WV; brother Tommy Akers of Adena Village, WV; her friend for life Patty Proffitt of Smith Creek, WV; her partner in crime Evelyn Carr of Chelyan, WV; grand daughters Brittany Nichole Proffitt of Middle Patch Gallagher, WV and Starr Proffitt of North Carolina; grandson Kody Proffitt of Tornado, WV.
She will be greatly missed more than she will ever know. She was a devoted wife, mother and the best grandmother that Brittany could’ve ever had. We love you mommy, but we will meet again in Heaven where there will be no more sadness, tears, darkness or pain. May you be forever young. Go rest high on that mountain for you work on earth is done.
Service will be 2 :00 PM Friday August 14, 2009 at Gallagher Church of the Nazarene in Gallagher, with the Rev. Chester Bird and Rev. Vernon Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park, London. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com.
