Doris L. Strickland age 81 of Smithers was granted her angel wings on May 9, 2012. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Mae Tucker Underwood. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Donald Underwood andTerry Underwood; sisters Norma Underwood Clark and Louise Underwood Bowyer.
She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and caring hears.
Doris was a member of the Hughes Creek Church of God.
Doris leaves behind a son Allen Hess and his wife Pam of Huntington and a daughter Kathy Williams and her companion Jerry Snyder of Smithers; grandchildren Allen Hess Jr. of Huntington, Leslie Hess of Barboursville and Crystal White and her husband Joey of Smithers; great-grandchildren Christopher McComas and Maddox White; brothers Jack Underwood of Gallopolis, OH, Ralph Underwood of Hugheston, Larry Underwood of North Fort Myers, FL and Garland Underwood of Winfield.
Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday at the Hughes Creek Church of God with Rev. John Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the church. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
