Obituary for Drema Kay Prichard

Drema Kay Prichard of Little Creek, Chelyan went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 18, 2012 in Charleston. She is survived by her husband the Rev. John D. Prichard a daughter Angela K. Prichard Workman and son Rev. John D. Prichard II and his wife Brenda of Butler, MO; grandchildren Hanna, Madison, Joshua and Benjamin; her parents Frank E. and Darlene Clark of Gallagher; sister Gwen Bogatay and her husband Rev. Darryl, Lee Meadows and her husband Denny, Brenda Bowyer and her husband Carl and Denise Hypes and her husband Kevin; brothers Leonard Clark and his wife Becky and Patrick Clark and a host of nieces nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her sister Sue Carter.
Her life can be up summed up with three words; Love, Faith and Family. She loved one man. She and her husband began their romance in high school, culminating in a marriage of 42 years. Their marriage was a beautiful example of covenant love and faithfulness. Drema took great care to demonstrate love with her life. Caring for the needs of others was a natural extension of her love. Her faithful service in ministry with her husband began in 1975. Together they pastured churches of the Nazarene in Virginia and West Virginia only recently retiring from full-time ministry. Drema’s love for the Lord was evident in all she did; singing, playing piano for worship, planning ministry for missions, youth and women’s group were all ways she served well. Her love for life was contagious and it all stemmed for her love for Jesus. She was a member of the Rand First Church of the Nazarene. As the oldest of 7 children family held a significant place in her life. Helping to raise her younger siblings taught her the compassion and nurturing spirit that her own children would be blessed by. She passed from this life just as she lived, surrounded by the love and comfort of the family she cherished.
Service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at the Rand Church of the Nazarene, 305 Davidson Ave., Rand, WV 25306 with Pastor Gordon Killion Jr., Rev. Kevin Walker and Dr. Mervin Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London. Friends may call from 6 until 9 on Monday at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery.
