Obituary for Elmer A. "Moe" Easterling

Mr. Elmer A. "Moe" Easterling age 93 of Smithers passed from this life on Friday July 25, 2014 in Montgomery General Elderly Care.

Elmer was born on November 6, 1920 in Grahn, KY and was the son of the late Earnest and Dolly Easterling.

He was the dearly beloved and appreciated brother of Earle Easterling of Kemah, TX, sister Irene White of Smithers brother Eugene Easterling of Smithers, sister Adelene Pell of Asheville, NC, brother Rev. Chester D. Easterling of Smithers and Rev. Orville E. Easterling and wife Wilma of Mt. Sterling, KY all of whom survive him.

Mr. Easterling was a retired employee of Semet-Solvan Division of Allied Chemical Co at Harewood, WV.

Elmer served his country for approximately 3 years in the US Army Air Corps during World War II as a radio operator and attained the rank of Staff Sgt.

During his service, he was awarded the air medal and several other awards of involvement in various theatres of operations.

Elmer is also survived by four nieces and 13 nephews.

Elmer also, about four days before his passing, in the presence of one of his brothers gave his heart to Jesus Christ and became a born again Christian, a blessed answer to years of faithful prayers by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday July 30, 2014 at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with his two minister brothers Orville and Chester officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
