Marie Barnett 93 of Powellton, died December 29, 2013. She was born October 18, 1920 in Green Sulpher and was the daughter of the late William T. and Ollie Bell Hicks Kincaid. She was also preceded in death by her husband John T. Barnett, daughter Deloris Christian and her husband Dewey. .

She was a homemaker for her family and a resident of Powellton. She was a member of Powellton United Methodist Church. She also was a member and President of the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, crocheting, working in her flowers and working on crafts

Surviving children Donald Barnett and his wife Pat of Powellton, Donna Darlington and her husband Joe of Powellton, Denise Arthur and her husband Randy of Cross Lanes and Dorla Barnett of Harmony, NC; grandchildren, Fred, Marsh, Patti, Lori, Donald, John, Angela, Allison, Amanda, Ashley, Kayle and Sarah; 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery, with the Rev. Joe Darlington and Rev. Fred Christian officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
