Obituary for Ethel E. Lucas

On January 1, 2013 Ethel Lucas age 87 went home to be with the Lord. Ethel was a long time resident of the small town of Collinsdale, and loved her little house there surrounded by her family. She attended the Burnwell Church of the Nazarene, where she was active in the Ladies Ministry. She was an amazing cook, who loved nothing better than to feed her entire family and all her friends.
She was the wife of the late Virgil Lucas, and daughter of the late Homer and Leva Kees. She is survived by her sons; James and wife Kathy of Burnwell, Edward and his wife Becky of Christiansburg, VA, Gerald and wife Deanna of Oak Hill; daughter Phyllis and her husband Sean Neumann of Pratt. She is also survived by her grandchildren who were her greatest joy. They are Scott and his wife Heather of Christiansburg VA, Craig and his wife Heather of Oak Hill, J.C. and his wife Terrie of The Plains, VA, Eric and his wife Marian of Portland OR, and Liam Neumann of Pratt; Granddaughters Kelly Jenkins and her husband Kevin of Pratt, Shannon Ward and her husband Richard of Ashville, NC and Kimberly Lucas of Oak Hill. Her great grandchildren, one of her biggest joys are Samantha, Melissa, and Katelynn Lucas all of VA; Kadence and Ryleigh Lucas of Oak Hill, Sebastian Ward of NC, Drew Lucas of VA> She is also survived by her brothers; Bannan of Collinsdale and Robert of Ohio; sisters Vada Craig of Winchester VA, Nola Clements of Collinsdale and Kathleen Lively of Oak Hill. She was also MomMaw to three precious other children Jessica, Leslie, and Nicholas Carver, she considered them “grandkids” right along with her own.
Service will be 2:00 PM Sunday at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with the Rev. Kevin Witcher and Rev. Roger Gogus officiating. Burial will follow in Greencastle Cemetery, Greencastle, WV.
