Freda M. Deitz Smith, age 85, of Deep Water, died April 13, 2009. She was born, June 22, 1923 at Mt. Lookout and was the Daughter of the late Dewey and Anna Evans Deitz. She was also preceded in death by husband Claude Smith; sister Lucille Frazier and brothers Charles and Emmett Deitz.
Freda was a former employee of GC Murphys in Montgomery and was a cook for the Deep Water school. She was also of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are sister Audra Deitz of Mt. Lookout; Brother Gerald Deitz of Mt. Lookout; sister-in-law Freda Deitz of Mt. Lookout; brother-in-law John Frazier of Robson and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held Thursday, April 16 at 2:30 PM at O’Dell Funeral Home Montgomery, with the Rev. Paul Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Lookout. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
