Obituary for Freddie Wayne Perdue

Freddie Wayne Perdue, 68, of Mt. Carbon, passed away on February 16, 2017, after a long illness. He was born on July 1, 1948 in Beards Fork, WV and he was the son of the late Fred and Elsie “Cricket” Perdue.

Freddie served in the Vietnam War in 1968. He was retired from Brown Chevrolet in Montgomery, WV after 37 years of service. He was a member of Kimberly Church of God and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and flea marketing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Pat Underwood, Dixie Yates, Brenda Zumbar, and Donna Henry and brothers Jerry Perdue and Rick Perdue.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Linda Daniels Perdue of Mount Carbon, WV, daughter, Michelle Perdue Boothe of South Charleston, WV, and son and daughter-in- law Freddie and Sherri Perdue of Smithers, WV. He was a very proud PaPaw to Jared Boothe, Tyler Perdue, and Eli Boothe. In addition he is survived by brothers Rod Perdue, Charlie Perdue, and Bo and wife Mary Perdue, sisters Bonnie and husband Gary Dempsey, Sherry and husband Gary Burnside, and Trudy and husband Joe Atha, brother-in- laws Jim Daniels and Ochel Daniels and wife Reda, sister-in- law Dana White and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and friends.

A special thank you to his niece Stacey Liddle, staff, nurses, and Hospice workers for caring for and watching over him while he was a resident of Golden Living Center in Glasgow, WV.

Funeral services will be on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Hughes Creek Community Church with Pastor Joe Darlington and Brother Craig Petry officiating. Burial will be at Montgomery Memorial Park in London, WV. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Hughes Creek Community Church from 6 to 9 pm. O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery is in charge of the arrangements.

Mom…..we want to thank you for showing us what true unconditional love is truly about. You took such good care of dad and he knew and felt how very much you loved him. Your love for him not only touched us but all of those who watched you care for him during his illness.
