Obituary for George Edward Pritt

George Edward Pritt 88 of Cannelton, died August 7, 2013. He was born January 27, 1925 in Cannelton and was the son of the late Lewis Edward and Myrtle Estep Pritt. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Lee Morris Pritt; sons Gregory Edward Pritt and Richard Lee Pritt and his sister Mildred Alexander.

He was a retired Coal Miner from Perry-Hilton Coal Company, member of VFW, and attended Assembly of God Church. He was a veteran of the He was a veteran of the United States Army and was serving at Utah Beach on D Day of World War II.

Surviving are his children Barbara Ann McMillion of Peterstown, Dennis Charles Pritt of Cannelton, Randall Allen Pritt of Montgomery, Michael Gerald Pritt of Princeton, Mark Tereld Pritt of Cannelton, Sandra Kay Puffenbarger of Powellton, Kenneth Ray Pritt of Mebane, NC, George Dewitt Pritt of Boomer, Roger Glen Pritt of Smithville, NC, Steven Wayne Pritt of Cannelton, Gary Don Pritt of Lashmeat, Mary Lynn Roat of Cannelton; brother Eddie Pritt of Chicago, IL; 27 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.

Service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with the Rev. Frank Brown and Rev. Jeremy Pritt officiating, Burial with military honors will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
