Obituary for Gerald Dames White

Gerald Dames White, Sr., 82, passed away Monday, October 24, 2016 at his residence with his family by his side. Gerald was born September 16, 1934 in Bickmore, WV son of the late, James W. and Maggie Beatrice Walker White.

Gerald retired from the USMC as a Master Sergeant.

He was preceded in death by son, Gerald Dames White, Jr.; brothers, James and Robert White; sister, Magalene Weiss.

He is survived by wife, Janet Pritt White of the home; sons, James Edward White of Hubert and William Lonnie White (Tammy) of Hubert; daughters, Margaret Nelson White Taylor (Michael) of Hubert; Marilyn Byrd (Lee) of Hubert, Brandi Jo White Alexander (Joshua) of Hubert, Theresa Faye White of the home; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, Willie J. White of WV; sisters, Ernestine Alderman, Lorene Kinder both of WV, and Emagene Coakley of MD; special Caregiver, Lisa Kennedy; and his special companion Biscuit.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday October 29, 2016 at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens Chapel in Glasgow, WV with Pastor Frank Brown officiating with full USMC military honors.
