Obituary for Hansford Cleon "Hank" Keenan
Hansford (Hank) C. Keenan, of Hughes Creek, West Virginia passed away on December 19th 2023 after reaching the age of 78 years old. After a unexpected illness, he died peacefully in Teays Valley Hospital with his beloved wife Shirley and closest family by his side
Hank was born on April 26th ,1945 to Clayton and Alma Rucker Keenan. Hank was an avid outdoorsman , Army Veteran and spent his career as a coal miner. In 1985 he married the love of his life, Shirley (Philpott) Keenan, where they remained inseparable for the next 39 years.
Hank loved sports, specifically the Green Bay Packers and the WVU Mountaineers, hiking in the woods, hunting Ginseng and Yellow Root, camping and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a dedicated Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather to many. He is loved and will be missed by many!
Hank is preceded in death by parents, Clayton Keenan and Alma Rucker Keenan, daughter Angela Perdue, stepson Michael Coleman, and brothers Charles and Lum Keenan.
Hank is survived by his loving wife Shirley, stepdaughter Janie Hutchinson and fiancé Jim Cline, grandchildren Michael (Brogan) Hutchinson, step grandchild Jonathan (Ashley) Cline, and great grandchildren Rowan Hutchinson, Corey Cline, and Jackson Batton.
Services will be held on Friday, December 22nd, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at O’Delll Funeral Home in Montgomery, WV with Pastor Tom Skaggs officiating. Entombment will be held at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home on Friday.
