Obituary for Harless Leroy Buckner
– Harless Buckner, 88, of Dothan, AL went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 12, 2015. He was born June 13 1926 at Ward, WV and was the son of the late Robert and Mirtie Hedrick Buckner. He was an ordained minister in the Church of God of Prophecy and Pastored churches in WV, Texas and Alabama. His ministry spanned 53 years. He was also a veteran serving in World War II in the US NAVY.
He is survived by his son, Steve Buckner (Sandy) of Fayetteville, TN, daughter, Linda (Morris) Bates of Dothan, AL; Grandsons Morey (Kim) Bates of Decatur, AL; Chris (Jamie) Bates of Cullman, AL; Corey (Brittany) Buckner of Fayetteville, TN; great grandsons, Kaleb and Jonah. He is also survived by brother, Carl Buckner of Fairmont, WV; and sisters – Irene Waugh of Kessler’s Cross Lanes, WV, Christine Baker of Lelyna, OH and Roberta Boggs of Hugheston, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by his wife, Ellen Persinger Buckner, son Ricky Buckner, and brothers, John, Shelby and Billy.
A tribute to his life will be held at 12 noon, Thursday Apr 16, at Restlawn Memory Gardens Chapel of Rest, 151 Restlawn Cemetery Road, Victor WV with Pastor Chris Bates officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor WV. Friends may call one hour prior to the service Thursday at Restlawn.
