Obituary for Harold Gene Fair Jr.

Harold Gene Fair Jr.
“Harold Gene Fair Jr., 49, of Montgomery, West Virginia passed away on October 21, 2022. He was born on December 25th, 1972.

Harold was an avid car enthusiast who was first introduced to the joy an automobile could offer by his father. After years of working on vehicles as a hobby in his pass time, he became formally educated as a mechanic and obtained an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in 1995.

Harold turned his passion into a career through employment as a mechanic at Steve and Stacy’s Service center in Charleston, West Virginia; eventually, Harold would support his family as a bus driver for the Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority where he worked for 17 years.

Aside from his career, Harold enjoyed the outdoors, especially a summer day spent relaxing on the beach, riding four wheelers and dirt bikes, or passing ball with his kids. In the fall, he enjoyed watching the leaves change colors while walking trails in various state parks.

Harold will be remembered for his never-faulting strength, comedic sense of humor, and unwavering grit — he always got ‘er done.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Fair Sr., paternal grandparents Ralph and Violet Fair, and maternal grandparent Robert Runnion.

Left to cherish his memories are his son Harold Fair III, daughter Brittany Fair, mother Debra Cox, and grandmother Elizabeth Runnion.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at O’Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery, West Virginia with Pastor Jeff Floyd officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com”
