Obituary for Hattie L. Nunley

Hattie L. Nunley age 82 of Montgomery died May 3, 2010 at Montgomery General Hospital after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was preceded in death by her parents Patrick J. and Hattie H. Paulding.
She was a teacher and guidance counselor at Montgomery High School, later Valley High School, for over 30 years. She enjoyed her years as a guidance counselor the most and took a personal interest in each and every student with whom she worked to encourage and inspire them to set their goals high and be the best that they could be. As one of her close friends told us recently, “She built a lot of lives”.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Howard K. Nunley who was her loving and dedicated caregiver during her illness; her sons Robert M. Nunley of Montgomery and Steven D. Nunley and his wife Kathy of Pratt; former daughter-in-law Nancy Nunley of Morgantown; grandchildren Ryan Nunley, Rebecca Nunley, Sarah Kendall and her husband Eric, Melanie Elswick and her husband Jeff and Kandi Holley and her husband Tommie; five great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation and funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Montgomery Memorial Park, London. O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
