Henry grew up in Mt. Carbon during the depression and was a veteran of WWII. He was wounded and a prisoner of war in France and received a Purple Heart after returning to the United States. He worked for UMWA coal mines at Semet Solvay at Harewood. After retiring from the coal mines he worked for the Tech foundation building homes. He then went to work with his son Jimmy Ford at WVIT as a lead carpenter where he received numerous accolades for his work. At his retirement at WVIT he received a plaque that had his favorite saying "That Cotton Pickin Lousey Hammer". In his later years he worked around his home and he raised gardens and helped others in need.

Dad was well respected and attended numerous local churches including Mt. Carbon, Page, Powellton and his last home church, Hughes Creek Community Church.

The family would like to thank Gary and Barbara Tucker and his church family at Hughes Creek Community Church who he loved dearly. Also his neighbors Larry and Shirley McClure who always did wonderful things for him and all the nurses and doctors at Montgomery General Hospital and Les Thomas for being his Lowe's buddy.

Service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Hughes Creek Community Church with Rev. Gary Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London.
