Howard R. Bostic age 92 of Boomer died April 30, 2009 in Montgomery General Hospital. He was born September 10, 1916 at Talcott and was the son of the late William and Pauline Davis Bostic. He was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children Gwendolyn Maxine Bostic and two brothers and one sister.
He was a member of Boomer Baptist Church in Boomer and he was retired from Union Carbide at Alloy. He had lived in Boomer for over 60 years.
Surviving: wife Edith “Edie” Bostic; daughter Ruth Ann Parsley and her husband Bob of Granville, Ohio; son Michael Howard Bostic and his wife Rosemary of Ansted; step-daughter Wanda King and her husband Mike of Montgomery; grandchildren Matthew Bostic and his wife Janice, Kelly Crist and her husband Kevin, Bob Parsley and his wife Tara, Brian Parsley and his wife Erin, Lea Ann Parsley and Aimee Parsley-White and her husband Ned; 12 great grandchildren; brothers Richard and Bernard Bostic of Talcott, James Bostic of Montgomery and Thomas Bostic of Pikeville, KY; sisters Mary Carol Ward of Talcott and Ruby Grey of New Castle, PA.
Service will be 3:00 PM Saturday at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Pastor James Nesson officiating. Entombment will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow. Friends may call 2 hours prior to service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to a charity of choice.
