Obituary for Howard A. "Buddy" Cook

H.A. "Buddy" Cook Sr. H.A. "Buddy" Cook Sr., 79, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Montgomery, WV passed away in Jacksonville on Sunday, October 14, 2012. He was born in Kingston, WV to the late Andrew and Flora Harmon Cook. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris "Junie" Cook; sisters, Francis Cook and Loretta Lich; and stepson, Richard Hess. Buddy was a longtime resident of Montgomery. He was honorably discharged from the West Virginia Army National Guard (Company A, 150th Armored Calvary) and retired from AT&T. He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Akers of Ravenswood; brother, Robert Cook (Sandy) of Milwaukee, Wis.; sons H.A. "Andy" Cook Jr. (Barbara) of Cypress, Texas, and Sam Cook of Florida; daughters, Kym Holland of Pelham, Ala., and Jennifer Santarone (Scott) of Jacksonville; and stepdaughter, Deborah Doss of St. Augustine, Fla. He had eight grandchildren, Tatum Rogers (Chris), Loren Freitas (Brad), Robert Cook, Kathryn Holland, Andrea Doss and Lorianne, Lynseigh and Leightyn Santarone; four great-grandchildren, Gwyndolyn and Mylee Rogers and Logan and Mason Freitas; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Service was held Thursday, October 18, 2012 at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery, WV Burial followed in Montgomery Memorial Park, London.
