Obituary for Iris "Idy" Williams Ms

Iris A. (Ms. Idy) Williams Iris A. (Ms. Idy) Williams, 83, a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and sister passed away September 1, 2009 at home in Columbus, Ohio. She was born November 19, 1925, in Morris Creek, WV to the late Rev. Jesse and Laura J. Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Williams, son, Troy “Putt” Henderson and her loving brothers and sisters. She was an active member of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Powellton, WV until she became ill and moved to Columbus, Ohio. She was a member of the Charming Voices and sang with the Kennedy Specials. She also served as the choir director of the Powellton Youth Choir. She leaves to cherish her passing, two sons: Elder Roderic (Yolanda) Henderson of Columbus, OH, and Curtis Williams of Charleston, WV. Children she helped raise and loved: Samuel (Starlene) Jackson, Jr. of Powellton, WV; Jesse (Barbara) Jackson of Charleston, WV; Joseph Jackson of Charleston, WV; Victoria Jackson, Marianne Jackson Rowell and Raymond (Tameka) Jackson, all of Cleveland, OH; Terrence (Crissy) Walker of Teays Valley, WV; Tammi Jackson of Columbus, OH and Juan (Terri) Jackson of Powellton, WV; sister: Evangelist Darlene (Gobbel) Hall of Texas; granddaughters: Brianna Williams of Charleston, WV and Kisha P:rice of Columbus, OH and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday at O’Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery, WV with the Elder Roderic Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Haven Memorial Park, Ingram Branch, WV.
