Jack Bernard "J.B." Hale Jr., was born in Grundy, Va., on December 24, 1954. He currently resided in Hansford, W.Va. His date of death was October 30, 2013, at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston. He was employed by Fisher Federated Auto Parts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Bernard Hale, Sr. and Dorothy "Dot" Ramey Hale. He was also preceded in death by his best friend, James "Rooster" McNurlen.

Surviving are his wife, Diane, currently residing in Arden, N.C.; his daughter, Amanda Hale Hughes, and husband, Jason of Lexington, N.C.; and his grandson, Seth; sisters, Ginny Hale Harmer and husband, Bill, and Annette Hale Morton; nieces and nephews, Christopher Harmer and wife, Jen, Ryan Harmer and wife, Amanda, Allison Kell and husband, Colin, Brad Madison II, Sara Morton and Tucker Morton; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He leaves behind many friends.

A memorial service is to be held noon, Monday, November 4, at O'Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery, WV with Fr. Stan Holmes officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest at 3 p.m., Monday after the memorial service at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, Va., with graveside committal services.
