James E. (Jimmy, J.B.) Banks, 86, of Powellton, WV went home to be with the Lord on January 2, 2022, after a short illness. He was a loving husband and devoted family man. His motto was “Walk A Mile in My Shoes.” He was retired from Walker Service Station, Marathon Coal Bit Industries, and was a custodian for Powellton United Methodist Church of which he was a member.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Doris Banks. Surviving him his loving wife of 31 years, Mary Lou Miles Banks; children Reva (Mark) of Sod, WV; James Ray of Hopewell, VA.; stepchildren, Phil Miles of Red House, WV; Patricia (Tim) Kinkead of Bristol, VA.; and David (Sharon) of Hurricane, WV. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews as well as a sister, Shirley Houser of Jacksonville, FL.

Per his wishes a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 11AM at the Powellton United Methodist Church, Powellton, WV with Pastor Joe Darlington officiating.
