Dear Barb, My heart goes out to you and your family. I know how proud you are of your father, his service to his country, and how so very much you love him. I spoke with Rick (COL Hatch) this morning and he said he wished he could have spent just a day with your father, to hear his stories of his time during the great war. Rick said the stories you hear, the movies you watch and the books you read of Normandy, of all of what went on during WWII is what your dad and his comrades lived and he said, after reading your dad's file, that your father was a true hero and it would have been such an honour to have just spent even a few minutes with him.
