Obituary for Janey Perdue

Janey Metheney Perdue age 51 of Powellton went home to be with the Lord on Sunday April 5, 2009. She was born September 5, 1957 in Montgomery and was the daughter of the late Curtis and Juanita Echols Metheney of Powellton. She was also preceded in death by her brother Curtie Metheney and brother-in-law David Thomas.
Janey was a LPN for 25 years. She was a Christian and was a member of Kanawha Two Mile Gospel Tabernacle in Charleston. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and helping others.
Surviving is her husband of 36 years Rodney K. Perdue; daughter Tonya Morris and her husband Anthony of Mt. Carbon; sons Rodney K. Perdue II and his wife Julia of Mt. Carbon and Steven W. Perdue and his wife Renitta of Charleston; sister Kathy Thomas and Janey’s nephew Brian Thomas of Mt. Carbon; grandchildren Dalton and Madison Perdue, Lexie Tygrett, Brayden Perdue and Caiden Morris and many other family and friends.
Service will be 12:00 noon Wednesday at the Apostolic Light House at Mt. Carbon with Rev. John Hundley and Rev. Greg Hurley officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow. Friends may call from 6 until 9 on Tuesday at the church. O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery is in charge of arrangements.
