Life Story for Joan Alan Dolin

Joan Dolin of Falls View, WV entered this life on July 19, 1943 and went to her heavenly home on May 16, 2013 after a short but very difficult battle with cancer. A graduate of Gauley Bridge High School and West Virginia Institute of Technology, she retired as a nurse from Montgomery General Hospital with over 30 years of service. She is survived by her daughters Paula Jean Dolin and fiancé Eric Martin of St. Albans, WV and Michelle Dolin Bostic and husband Jason Bostic of Pratt, WV. Other loving family members include Robin Taylor Eagle, Melissa Nicole Madison, Anna Marie Murphy, Terri McCann-Bushroe , Amanda Westfall Bostic and Paulette Louise Workman whom she loved as though they were her own children. Lindsey, Katelyn Nicole Eagle, Jordan Lee Spangler, Madison Victoria Wright, Matthew David Eagle and Ethan Chad Bostic, whom she loved as though they were her own grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Neil Russell Bias and Nettie Long Bias her brother Neil William Bias and A special Angel.

With a caring way and generous heart, Joan was a dedicated mother, companion to her family, friends and neighbors. It never mattered if you were related or not, once you met her, you were family. She dedicated her life to the raising of her daughters, but her love and compassion in no way stopped there. She touched the lives of many people she came into contact with and made lasting impression upon them. She was especially fond of Christmas and the time she shared at her daughters homes where all were welcome. Her love of gardening and cooking was well known throughout her circle of friends, family and neighbors. Joan was a Christian and reaffirmed her relationship with Jesus Christ before her passing. Joan now resides in Heaven, I’m sure Jesus has found a special place for her.

A special thanks to the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit nurses at CAMC General- Lora, Lyndsay, Terri, Samantha, Michelle, Teresa.

Service will be held on Thursday at 7:30 PM at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery. Friends may call from 5:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home on Thursday. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
