Obituary for John Lee Bragg

John Lee Bragg, beloved Grandson of Elizabeth M. Chittum, affectionately known as “Puddin” by his Grandmother, died Sunday, June 5, 2011, in the Montgomery General Elderly Care Unit, at the age of 73. In his younger years, John Lee attended West Virginia Institute of Technology, served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany, and worked in an administrative capacity for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C. In his middle years, John Lee returned to his hometown of Montgomery, W.Va. and, principally, served for many years as the primary caregiver for his beloved Grandmother, now deceased. In his later years, John Lee benefited greatly from the care and concern of various members of the community of Montgomery, W.Va., and particularly from the loyal friendship extended by Frankie Fragale and his family. John Lee is survived by an Uncle, Bennett Chittum, a retired officer of the U.S. Air Force, residing in Rome, New York, and by various first cousins, including Brent Lacy of Ashtabula, Ohio, son of Ira Lee Chittum (deceased) and Ruth Lacy, and Terry Lynne Phalen of New York City, daughter of Ruby Phalen Oliver (deceased).
Service will be 10:00 AM Monday, June 11, 2011 at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. James Neeson officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow. Friends may call from 6 until 8 on Sunday, June 12, 2011. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
