Obituary for John William Burkhamer

John William Burkhamer 87 of Cedar Grove died April 27, 2016. He was born to the late Lowell Matthew and Iva Metz Burkhamer on December 21, 1928 in Valley Fork, Clay County.

He was a retired coal miner from Union Carbide at Blue Creek and a member of the UMWA.

Surviving him is his wife of 67 years, Jacqueline Ogla Backus Burkhamer, children; John W. Burkhamer of Summers County, Joe W. Burkhamer of Cross Lanes, Lydia A. Tipton of Sutton, Jean A. Burkhamer-Martin of Glasgow, and James R. Burkhamer of South Charleston. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren.

Service will be 1PM Saturday, April 30, 2016 at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with the Rev. Todd Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
