John Henry Riddle age 87 of Kimberly died May 26, 2011. He was born May 5, 1924 at Handley and he was the son of the late Henry and Martha Jarrett Riddle. He was also preceded in death by his wife Kathleen and his daughter Kathy Ann.
He was a World War II US Army veteran and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was retired from Semet-Solvay Coal Company with 41 years of service and a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was a member of Carbondale Baptist Church and also a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Montgomery and the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 8366.
Surviving: daughters Shirley Belcher of Smithers, Brenda Pritt and her husband Kenneth of Mebane, NC, Terry Riddle of Montgomery, Jerry Riddle of Montgomery and Jacqueline Riddle of Mebane, NC; son John H. Riddle II of Kimberly; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with the Rev. Ron Eagle officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow. Friends may call from 6 until 9 on Monday at the funeral home.
