Obituary for Leonard W. Washington

Leonard Wesley Washington, 64, of Kimberly,West Virginia went to join his heavenly Father on December 30, 2008 at CAMC Memorial. Charleston, WV surrounded by family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Isabelle Mitchell Washington; brothers Willie Cecil and Fred Jr.; sisters Ethel Williams and Delores Washington; spiritual brothers and friends Gordon Treadway and Carl Lewis.
He attended Montgomery High School in Montgomery, WV. He was a graduate of West Virginia Institute of Technology in Montgomery, WV earning degrees in Computer Science and Accounting. He was a Disabled Veteran of the U.S. Army. He made the Dean’s List several times and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa a National Honor Fraternity.
Left to cherish him are his brothers Charles (Jean) Montgomery, West Virginia & Lawrence Washington of Mount Carbon, West Virginia and sister Bernice Washington Kimberly, West Virginia two aunts, Evalina Hollingsworth & Lucille Walton of New York, nieces, nephews, cousins and Spiritual brother in Christ Gene (Lana) Workman.
Visitation will be Friday, January 2, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., O’Dell Funeral Home 1301 Fayette Pike W. Montgomery, WV. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 3 at 12 noon Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Carbondale, WV. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London with military honors presented by Ansted Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Friends may also visit one hour prior to service at the church. Reverend William Issac Kinney and Minister Roger Walton will conduct services.
O’Dell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
