Obituary for Lloyd Kenneth "Ken" Lake

Lloyd Kenneth "Ken" Lake was a man of deep faith who loved God, served others and cherished Alberta, his wife of 61 years. Ken was born in Handley, WV on December 15, 1921 to John and Ruby Lake. He had five siblings; Pete Lake, Norma Russell, Jean Stevens, John Lake, and Peggy Duncan.
Ken married the love of his life, Alberta Settle, on December 20, 1952. He was a long-time employee of Brown Chevrolet, Inc. in Montgomery and was also a long-time member of Handley Baptist Church where he served in various leadership roles. Since moving to South Carolina, Ken was a member of Carolina Forest Community Church.
Ken is survived by: his wife Alberta; daughter Jeanne Webb; son Mac Lake; grandchildren Jessica Webb Cole, Jennifer Webb, Brandon Lake, Jordon Lake, and Brianna Lake and a Great child soon to be born, Michael Blaise Lake; and a Brother John Lake.
The funeral service will be held on Monday September 22, 2014 at 11:00 am at O’Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery, WV with Rev. Randy Kessler and Mac Lake officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London. Friends may call on Sunday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made in honor of Ken Lake to Handley Baptist Church or Carolina Forest Community Church (worship ministry). The family appreciates the overwhelming kind words from friends and family and looks forward to celebrating the life of Ken Lake with you.
