Obituary for Loris E. "Tom" Reynolds

Loris E. "Tom" Reynolds age 86 of Mt. Carbon died February 28, 2014 at home after a long illness. He was born July 23, 1927 at Mt. Carbon and was the son of the late Walter and Hallie Scott Reynolds. He was also preceded in death by his wife Jannie Hutchin Reynolds.

He was retired from Elkem Metals at Alloy with over 40 years service where he walked daily from Mt. Carbon across the railroad bridge crossing the Kanawha river to work and back at the end of each shift. and he was US Army veteran of World War II.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved the Lord and he always took care and supported his family and their family. He loved animals and took in all animals that came. He enjoyed his lawn, garden and gave most of his canning and vegetables away to neighbors.

Surviving: children Jane Reynolds of Mt. Carbon, Cathy Preast and her husband Howard of Swiss, Michael Reynolds of Powellton and Tommy Reynolds of Montgomery.

4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. Ira Holland officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow with military honors. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the New River Humane Society, Rt. 2 Box 351, Fayetteville, WV 25840.
